Family History addict and social media oversharer.
I was introduced to genealogy by my Grandma way back in 1995. Since then I have developed something of an addiction to this fascinating hobby.
Initially, my aim was to see how far back I could trace my roots. Today, I want to discover more about the sort of people my ancestors were. Maybe I will recognise elements of their characters in my own? I especially love finding photographs and old documents. A real snapshot into the lives of my ancestors.
I have made some fantastic discoveries along the way, including secret marriages, reunited families and even finding out why the baby assumed to be unwanted, was the one most treasured of all.
I have two Blogs based on members of my family tree:
Sister Caswell - A Blog about the Travels of Sister Caswell. A lass from Consett, Co Durham who braved the jungles of Borneo and the famine of Ethiopia.
Family Chest - A blog about the contents of a family chest containing documents dating back almost 200 years!!
